There Is Hope—Even When Life Hurts

There Is Hope—Even When Life Hurts

Job 14:7 – “At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail.”

In recent weeks, we’ve heard far too many heartbreaking stories about suicide among young adults. These tragic incidents are deeply saddening, and many could be prevented with early intervention and the right support.

Let me say this clearly:

There is no justification—morally, emotionally, or spiritually—for suicide.

No matter how dark the road may seem, there is always a path forward.
There is always someone willing to listen.
There is always hope.

You Are Not Alone

As a therapist who works with young adults, I’ve come to recognize a pattern:
Many who feel hopeless believe that their struggles are unique—that no one else could possibly understand.

This is what we call a cognitive distortion—a false belief.
The truth is, what you’re going through is not new, and you are not alone.

Others have walked similar roads—and made it through.

What Can We Do?

1. Talk More, Judge Less

Creating safe, nonjudgmental spaces for young people to express themselves can save lives.

2. Early Intervention is Key

Let’s encourage our young ones to seek professional help—not just when things reach a crisis point, but early. Mental health matters.

3. Speak Life

Remind them: Your life matters. Your story is not over. Hope is still alive.

If You're Struggling, Please Hear This:

🌱 You can rise again. Like a tree that’s been cut down, you can sprout new life.
📞 Talk to someone. A friend, a family member, a therapist, a counselor—just don’t stay silent.
🙏 You are loved. Even if it doesn’t feel like it right now.
