ACHIEVING YOUR DREAM

 WHAT IS A DREAM?

A dream is a vision, a desire, or a goal placed in your heart, often by God, to accomplish something great for Him.

The heart of a man is like a womb; It nurtures and grows dreams until they are birthed.

Genesis 37:2—Joseph's journey began with a dream. He was young, yet his dream shaped his destiny.

A GOD-INSPIRED DREAM

  • Not every dream is divine; some are selfish or fear-driven.
  • God-inspired dream aligns with God's purpose for your life.
  • It often blesses others, not just you.
  • You must be willing to submit your desires to God and allow Him to shape them.

    STRATEGIES FOR ACHIEVING YOUR DREAMS

    1. Write It Down

      • Habakkuk 2:2 – “Write the vision and make it plain...”

      • Writing clarifies and strengthens your commitment.

    2. Pray Over It

      • Don’t rush into action.

      • Let the Holy Spirit inspire, correct, and expand your vision.

      • Prayer builds your dream on a solid spiritual foundation.

    3. Seek Godly Counsel

      • Surround yourself with mentors, leaders, and spiritually mature friends.

    4. Set SMART Goals

      • Specific

      • Measurable

      • Achievable

      • Realistic

      • Time-bound

    5. Flock with People of Like Minds

      • "An eagle can’t be a classmate with chickens."

      • Surround yourself with dreamers, not doubters.

    6. Be Committed

      • Even when your dream doesn’t make sense, stay the course.

      • Joseph held on despite betrayal and hardship.

    7. Give It Time

      • Patience is a powerful tool. Great dreams take time.

    8. Track Your Progress

      • Regularly measure how far you’ve come.

    9. Celebrate Small Wins

      • Progress is progress. Don’t wait for the finish line to be grateful.

    10. Periodic Evaluation

      • Step back and evaluate what’s working and what needs to change.

    BARRIERS TO ACHIEVING YOUR DREAMS

    • Fear of the Unknown

      • “What if my mind is lying to me?”

      • Don’t let fear kill your potential.

    • Comparison

      • Your journey is unique. Don’t measure your dream by someone else’s timeline.

    • Laziness

      • Dreams demand diligence and effort.

    • Distractions

      • Stay focused. Social media, unhealthy relationships, etc., can derail you.

    • Impatience

      • Rushing leads to half-baked results.

    • Procrastination

      • Waiting for the “perfect time” often leads to nothing.

    • Indiscipline

      • Consistency is better than intensity.

    • Disobedience to Godly Instructions

      • God gives direction—don’t ignore it.
